A helpless dog was discovered in a heartbreaking condition, with hundreds of ticks covering almost its entire body. The poor animal was suffering and desperately needed urgent medical attention, care, and compassion. Thankfully, a rescue effort gave this innocent soul a chance to receive the treatment and love it deserved.

Dogs are domesticated descendants of wolves and were among the first animals to be domesticated by humans, more than 14,000 years ago. Over thousands of years, they have been selectively bred for different behaviors, abilities, and physical characteristics. Today, dogs come in countless breeds, shapes, sizes, and colors, each with unique qualities and characteristics.

Dogs have powerful jaws, approximately 42 teeth, and highly developed senses of smell and hearing. They communicate through eye contact, facial expressions, barking, body language, and scent signals. With an estimated global population of 700 million to one billion, dogs are among the most widespread animals in the world. Regardless of their appearance or condition, every dog deserves kindness, protection, medical care, and a chance to live a happy, healthy life.
